Its been one week...

since I had a baby…..

Andrew (Drew) Thomas Devola was born Friday December 22,2006 at 8:36 pm. He weighed in at 7 lbs 11oz and was 19 3/4 inches long.
For those wanting more detail read below: I went to the hospital Thursday morning for a crevical “ripening” treatment due to my high blood pressure and they found protien in my urine which graduated my from Gestantial Hypertension to mild Pre-enclampsia. This apparently meant that I was admitted and would be having an induction. They continued the cervical treatments through the night and started the pitocin first thing Friday morning. Things moved pretty slow until about 2pm. From 2pm to 5pm I went from 3-4 cm to complete and ready to push. The pushing took a while, but after 3 1/2 hours I had Drew laying on my stomach screaming. Our good friend Silvia was the first from outside the family to meet Drew. She came all the way from North Carolina to help out and celebrate the holidays with us!

We brought him home on Christmas Eve to a full house, with the Thomas clan visiting for the holiday. Needless to say Steve and I barely got to hold him that evening.

On Christmas Day the Devolas arrived and got the chance to meet their grandson. They stayed until the this morning when they headed back to Pittsburgh.
